Torque question, different angle.
I have the 08 precedent IQ. Everything is stock except for a 6"jake lift kit and 22" tires. I just installed 4 new Trojans and all are working great, cart goes forever, never discharge past 50% and leave on charger if not driving. Checked speed and on flat surface will hit 17mph. Thing is i don't care about speed, I want torque. I use for hunting and want to be able to get up hills. I does fairly well now but some are just too much for it. My question is: Is there a motor that I can purchase that will give me much better torque without replacing everything else that is stock?

Re: Torque question, different angle.
Personally, I would upgrade wires & contactor first. Then replace the controller with a high current model.
You can retard the timing on the motor a few degrees for a bit more torque. If you still need more torque after the steps above, I would look into a rewind or possibly a new motor. -sj |

to answer your question simply yes or is there something you can do, you buy a motor wound for torque ..but a controller motor combo freaking rocks!!

4ga wiring, hd FNR switch, 500a+ controller will have you climbing trees. If motor is overloaded, good excuse for rebuild for more.

Re: Torque question, different angle.
Thanks for all the info but I was trying to keep the cost way down. I found a used motor for torque for right at 300. Its a D and D 5022.
