All or nothing, poor part throttle modulation, How should I adjust?
I've searched, possibly using the wrong key words, but I am looking for some advice on what needs to be adjusted.
I have a 4 stroke EZGo TXT that runs great. If I push the gas pedal down just enough to engage the starter it will start, and then accelerate up to 17mph. I don't have to push any more than enough to start it. This 'all or nothing' approach makes it very hard to slow down in a smooth manner - If I lift enough to slow down then I have lifted enough to cut the spark, and the results in a sharp jolt. Then when I lightly brush the pedal enough to get the spark back on the cart wants to accelerate back to full throttle. I found the routine maintenance thread, but are these cables what I am after? Is my throttle plate out of adjustment? Ideally, I'd like to be able to run down the path/street at a crawl, then accelerate up to full throttle with a push of the pedal. Is this possible? |

You either have the throttle cable tightened too much or you have something sticking between the governor and carb. With key off have somebody throttle it while looking at cable/governor/carb setup. Also make sure carb throttle blade is closing all the way off throttle.
