I have 1980 2 cycle when u let off the gas and press it again it will backfire any ideas why
I was reading maybe muffler is plugged up and I painted the exhaust pipe with heat paint. ( good up to 1200°) When running the cart it is burning the paint off the pipe. Any help would be good

Make sure the throttle plate is closing all the way when the pedal is released. You will have to be able to see the plate to make sure. It is a very common issue.

It seems to get worst the hotter the motor gets and the power doesn't seem to be the same as when I first got the cart
