Default Splash Pan a good idea?

Has anyone every installed one of theses splash pans in there cart? We drive our carts around in the mud/gravel/snow/salt. With all of those mixed together its doing some bad work on my controllers/wires. I would just foam seal the areas up but im worried about when it gets hot in the summer. Any ideas would be great!

Thanks https://shop.ezgo.com/products/Splash-Pan.html

Never heard of a splash pan. Is there a pic you can show us?

Oops, I see it now. I'm pretty sure you have that panel installed already in your TXT. The controller and F/R switch mount to it.

Hmm, i don't think any of my txt have this. Where my battery's sit its all exposed on the bottom. I though this splash pan was where the batteries sit on and protect from the dirt water?

Hey.....I have them installed on both sides of my TXT. I never knew they were an option. I just figured they were part of the cart to keep mud and water from splashing up to short out whatever could be there to short out.

Buy 'em and install 'em. I've had 'em in mine for 8 years now and they keep the water off of the expensive parts and they don't seem to have any bad effects as far as overheating in the summer. The vent holes....or the holes that are there provide sufficient venting of air to keep things cool.

The "splash pan" on the right side (passenger side) is what holds the f/r switch and the stock controller. The original link makes the part look way bigger than it really is.

Oh...well then.....I guess I'm not "special" like I thought. Hey....story of my life.

But if I read the OP right he's saying that these "pan's" are actually harming his "stuff" that they are suppose to protect. OTOH, if he were to seal off the holes as he is thinking of doing, I doubt that would do any harm to the controller during the hot summer months. Of course, I would leave a few drain holes in the pan so that any water that can\will accumulate in it would have a place to escape....plus I would check that weep hole often to make sure it isn't clogged with stuff.
