Need Help
Need Help,
I put a new set of head lights and turn signals on my 1996 EZGo TXT. It has a Curtis high speed controller on it. After replacing the lights ( I put all the wires back in the same place) The cart would not run. I took off the controller cover just to check and every thing appears normal. I bumped the gas pedal and it moved. Put the cover back on and now nothing. Did the same thing but this timer I disconnected the black and white wire on the top of the controller. And yeas I put them back in the same place. Also I did place the unit in the Tow position before working on the cart. The last time I tried to get it to do this over again, I got a sound that sounded like the back up alarm (it wasn't) and now the cart won't do anything. When I first checked the voltages I had 36 and it went down very quickly from there! What is going on? Thanks for any advice! |

Re: Need Help
Welcome to BGW!
Sounds like you have a '96 TXT DCS. (Curtis 1206SX controller) If the pack voltage is only 36.0V, your batteries are less than 50% SoC (State of Charge) and need to be charged since the DCS controller does not an under voltage cutoff and doesn't tolerate operating at low voltage very well. Does the solenoid click when the pedal is pushed? If not, the problem is in the solenoid activation circuit, which is partially external to the controller and partially internal to the controller. IF the solenoid clicks, the problem is in the High Current circuit. Get the battery pack charged (38.2V is full charge) and let us know if the solenoid clicks or not. |
