Default Shock question on lift kit ?

I have a '98 Club Car that has a spindle lift kit. I do not know how high(ie "4,"6 etc) but I do have 23x10-12 tires on it if that helps.
The problem that I am having is since I have installed rear seat it only takes approx 75lbs to "bottom out" rear shocks.
I am concearned that the shocks are either in need of replacement due too being worn out or they are not rated for enough weight.

What type-brand-style do you all recomend replacing them with and what is cheapest way to purchase?

Thanks

LIVIN,

Sounds like you need a set of HD rear springs.. The stock rear springs are only a single leaf and will not handle much more than the cart itself.. The shocks don't support anything, they just dampen suspension movement..

Thanks....I found a set for $75 and they look easy to install.
Do you think that they will make my cart sit higher in the back with no load?
I just don't want to install them and then my cart will look like a dune buggy when no one is sitting on rear seat.

The HD springs will probably give a 2-2 1/2" boost from level to the rear of the cart.. If it's more than you like, you can always remove a leaf from each side.. That will let them settle a bit.. I took one leaf out of the HD springs that came on my cart.. I put one of them on the front spring to firm it up.. The cart sits with a slight rake to it now..
