Default Charging/Wiring problem I think

I have a 1998 E-Z-GO gas, 295 Robin. Can not keep the battery charged. Put in a new Alt/Gen and still the battery goes dead after a few short trips, even put a gel cell battery in it still going dead quickly. Is there a regulator or something like that in this thing ? A diagram would be usefull.

I have a 1988 Marathon, having the same issues. Rebuilt Starter/Gen, new solinoid, replaced wires. same issues you are having, will run for awhile on a fully charged battery, then nothing. You do have a voltage regulator on your cart. I belive it is a small square box w/3 wires coming from it , located next to your solinoid. replacing mine may be my next option if no one else has a solution. good luck.

Where did you get the solinoid ? Can't find one in any of the sites.

Make sure all your connections are tight and you dont have a radio or something running to run the battery down.

sounds like you need a voltage regulator. Make sure the green wire is securly connected to the starter/gen

It is silver/aluminum square with 3 wires coming out it. a red/black/green.

Thank You. I asked my local electric motor person the question today. He told me the exact same thing. Thank again.
