Welcome to the forum L J.............................
Definately loose battery connections. This is one of the reasons we tell a million folks here to check & tighten the battery connections. It's very important. Before you replace the battery, most of them can be repaired and still live a full life. |

Re: melted cable and post!
Take the loose bolt out and go to the hardware store. Get a larger bolt and a tap for some new threads. Ask the hardware guy for some tips on rethreading the hole . Do it and Whala. Fixed.

Or......
On the flat round pad next to the terminal, drill a hole to accomodate a stud and re-attach the cables with a nut. Don't drill into the plates! I think roady89 can tell you exactly what stud to use, and all the details. |

You can pull the caps off and see how far to the lead. You are gonna hit air and you can feel that.... You can do it.....specially if you're bein careful!
