Default Digital tachometer

I just bought a little digital tachometer on Ebay. What is the rpm range I should stay within? My cart is a 95 club car ds with the fe290 in it. I'm not sure if anything has ever been done to it cause I just bought it. I doubt anything was ever done to it though.
Thanks Mike

I think you are going to get conflicting answers on this...
I use my cart for golf only, so I could probably run it wide open & never have a problem for it never really reaches top speed, nor runs there for very long...

If your cart will see sustained speeds for a prolonged length of time, you'll want to keep it on the safe side...
I'm sure someone with more knowledge will chime in, but I set mine at 4100 rpm..
But it takes WOT for a ways to get there, & that's on pavement
Got me 18mph

I run 22 mph at 3650 wide open on 23” tires that’s running flat or up hill the governor is adjusted to keep it in sweet spot on my cart it doesn’t take a footballl field to reach that spread either it will run up pretty quick , still have the rev limiter hooked up but have adjusted the throttle linkages some. A lot of people say 4000-4200 is the “safe” zone this is achieved by removing the rev limiter and adjusting the governor.
