87 Club Car DS - Throttle Cable adjustment
Hello All. Im a cart newbie. I put a new throttle cable on the cart last year. This weekend started great and the kids drove the crap out of it. Yesterday it wouldnt go on flat gravel and I had to push onto the trailer.
When in maintenance mode, the cart would start and butterfly would open completely. I kept the seat off and put in forward and the butterfly would barely open with peddle down to the floor. Im not sure why that would be any different. I noticed about 1/2" to 3/4" of slack in the cable and I dont believe that will be adjusted out? My dad suggested creating a spacer at the carburetor end. Could the cable stretch in a year? Should i also look at the accelerator pedal connector rod? Should I lube up the cable? I just want to confirm the only adjustment is at the electrical box and to see if anyone else has run into this issue. Thanks all! |

Re: 87 Club Car DS - Throttle Cable adjustment
Maybe the bolts the hold the cable bracket to the transmission have come loose?
When the clutches are engaged the transmission will get pulled closer to the engine due to the tension placed on the belt. If anything is loose that will affect the governor cable which is what pulls the throttle lever open. |
