about to restore a ezgo
hello, i just bought a ezgo golf cart and i dont even know for sure what it is . i know it is a 2 cycle . and i think it is a 89. it sais mk589 on a tag. im going to rebuild the engine completely. the guy i bought it from said it just quit. i charged the battery. and found the cable going to the relay was disconnected. i think it burned off. i turned the key on and held the cable to the relay and it is like a welding rod. seems something is shorting out. i think it could be the generator starter. that would be the first thing i buy. is there a test i could do to see if the motor works. keep in mind that i will replace anything i think can couse problems. should i buy a new one or is this something that would be ok used. i appreciate any feed back. also how could i find out what motor and cart i have
