I wouldn't know how to tell. I'd say that is a crazy amount of speed for a stock cart. I'm sure you'll have to pull the gears and count the teeth.

If you go fast you need to stop fast... You only have rear non hydraulic drums. 35 is plenty fast hell 25 is as fast as I want to go.

Breugel has a good point. I would look into a good set of front brakes (front disc brake kit) if you plan on running anywhere above 30mph. They can get dangerous at high speeds and the braking on a hill will be almost none with only rear brakes at a high rate of speed.

it's like building a race car, you can't compliment one system without complimenting the opposing system. intake to exhaust, acceleration to braking etc. heck, at my age i'm just happy to putt around the ranch and enjoy nature

Putting around and enjoying nature sounds like one good afternoon to me.

come on guys
think back to your 70's muscle car
400+ hp rocket sled
4 wheel manual drum brakes and manual steering
or your old cycle hand operated manual drums
i shudder when i think back
or when i get the old bike out
and try to stop it
scary

pop the motor off spin the rear tires by hand, count the rotation of the input shaft 8 revs = one tire rotation if 8:1 gears, 12 revs = 12:1 etc.
