Club Car will not start...keyswitch?
Hello, I have a Club car I believe 1998 model that will not start or crank. We use it at the track to ride around on and last weekend it blew the fuse that is inside of the small black box under the seat. We replaced it while we were there and it blew again ater about 10 minutes of riding. Got the cart home and after investigating forund some wires melted to gether about 4-5 " form the ignition switch. Replaced these wires and replaced with a new fuse and now nothing. Car will not crank or anything. Do you think it is the keyswitchor maybe something else? Thanks!

If it does nothing... it sounds like you wired something wrong...

Thanks Don,I thought I wired everything back the way it was, but I could have made a mistake. I'll look at it in the morning and post my results. Thanks for the diagram.

Any chance you have checked the switch, wires or anything at all with a vom to help you determine what might be the problem?

Re: Club Car will not start...keyswitch?
I checked the ign switch and everything is hooked up like it says except where it has 2 black wires on -M I only have one. I also looked a little deeper in to it today and found that where you have the accelerator starter and kill limit switches that my kill switch was not working when you applied the accelerator. I took both apart and the kill limit switch was toast. I am goin to try to go get one this evening. Surely this would not be it would it?

Re: Club Car will not start...keyswitch?
If the kill switch was fried closed, then yes that would keep it from starting!
See if it will start with just the black wire removed! But, keep in mind... The engine won't shut down when releasing the Go pedal... you'll have to shut it down by the key switch! OR... you can do as I did, and adjust your idle speed, and let it idle, until you shut the key off! Just an idea! |

I put both limit switches back on and unhooked the black wire only and still get nothing.
