Lester 2800 on board charger review.
I'll be reviewing the 48v 19.5 amp model 2800.

Below are some un-boxing pics. The charger is very well packed against rough handling in shipment. Box weight was under 15 pounds.
Bulk size is 10x11x4. That nearly 2 Xs the size of the OEM charger.

Okay - same charger.
The blue interlock wire goes pack voltage negative when the charger is on. This should work better with the Club Car OBC than it did with the Ezgo

Sergio can figure out what you need, he's a wiz

So, don't bypass the OBC ?

You still eliminate the OBC but keep the charger safety interlock.

I was driving earlier but have arrived now, will try to post something shortly.

I had an idea for both series and sepex interlock use, just need to check a couple things first.

It is hard not having access to my regular tools back at home, but here is a diagram for IQ and Sepex:

If You cannot find the 10kΩ - 1 watt resistor locally, You can order here:
http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...zOC9bCL9VxU%3d
I will post on the OBC by-pass thread later with an option for Series carts similar to the one I worked with scottyb for the ezgo.

You can also use the same wiring above with an external DPI charger by connecting the DPI sense wire to the negative wire inside the charger and the cart's gray "sense" wire as indicated.

UPDATE: The retractable cord is in place and actually came out as planned with the cord exit inside of the wheel well and everything is hidden quite nicely...

Reversing the cord ends on the retractable power cable and bypassing the computer and it's ready to go....

Just an observation but the cord reel is rated for 15amps @125VAC. Charger pulls ~20amps, if the reel is fused protected it may be troublesome.

The 19.5 amps is the DC output, the charger max AC input current is 12 amps.

The biggest issue with cord reels is to make sure most of the cord is unwind during use so there is no heat build up.

Thanks for the advice. The cord is rated at 15A and is a 12/3. I got a short (20') cord for the heat issue and it will be uncoiled most of the time. Will do.....
