Default Want to verify what I have...year/model

Hi all, I'm brand new to this golf cart stuff. I'm going to have a bunch of questions...I've had this about a month and I'm starting to run into problems But before I get started bombarding you all for knowledge I figured I'd better know what I'm asking about So if you've got a few minutes take a look at the pics and if you know what I have, let me know
Thanks
Matt

OH, the manufacture code ends in 89...that means it's an 89, correct??

True, it's a 1989. Could be a Medalist or Marathon. The batteries in the Medalist are 1 group of 6 in the center and the Marathon is split into 2 groups of 3 on each side. It is a series Non DCS cart.
Someone with a little more knowledge on these specific models will have more info.

89 is only Marathon.
Could be resistor or controller cart.
Pics of battery bay will tell.

Has 3 battery spots on each side. Pretty sure it's not a resistor cart...unless they hide those things really well

Thanks for the help and the info. Now I'm about 99.9% sure I've got a 1989 E-Z GO Marathon. Won't be long and I'll be posting up my questions on this thing...and they're be plenty considering it stopped moving all together last week

the resistor would be in a metal box in the center of the batteries and it would have about 4 cables bolted to the top of the box? Is that what you have? Get underneath and look up I think you can see the resistors from the bottom ?

Well then maybe it is a resistor??? That thing is a metal box with about 4 cables going to it.

Here's an awful cell phone pic I took last night.

In 1989 the brake cable ran on top of the axle. The early 89 had a vent tube in the axle housing, the late 89 had a plug, also late 89 had a vent tube in the axle. I think the controller was 1st used in 1990 and your picture is a controller. So I am guessing maybe very late 89 or someone upgraded the cart. Take a look where the brake cable runs. Over or under the axle.
