Jump Controller
Any way to eliminate the F/N/R switch or anything else by jumping terminals? This way I could see if the motor is good or the controller is good or the direction switch is the issue. Thanks

Re: Jump Controller
Yes, but these motors RARELY go bad even after 30 yrs of service ....
Use the diagram below with 18 volts for the test on your SERIES cart... |

Re: Jump Controller
If I understand you correctly, I should eliminate three batteries (close to the charger connection) and then hook up the - lead to A1 and + to S2? Are those others A2 to S2 and LR2 to LR1manually jumped or is that how they are wired normally? I apologize, my cart is 50 miles away. Do I have to use heavy guage wire or can I use regular alligator test leads, 18ga, just for a small moment?

Re: Jump Controller
You need battery cables for this test and it probably is a wasted effort because the motor rarely goes bad in these carts ... What makes you think you need to test the motor? What have you tested so far? What pieces of the puzzel have you eliminated so far?

Re: Jump Controller
My 2001 and higher tech manual from this site concludes that it is the controller. My cart is a 98, don't know if that makes a difference. I thought that maybe it was the F/N/R switch so I wanted to bypass this first if that's possible. Could I bypass the controller in any way? I just want to be sure that it is the controller before I ask you guys which one to buy next! Thanks

Re: Jump Controller
Which drive system do you have? DCS, PDS, or Series?
