NOW YOU DID IT
I have been looking at my old trusty handicapped scooter for some time, its been my work platform for 3 years now and since Im almost done with my new hand built body on my club car Im looking for another project soon. Just sent my scooter in for new battery charger and new batterys after 4 years are getting weak? Hope VA desides to ship me a new one because then Ill have the old one to play with?
DESIGN STARTS NOW?
How about a chop and channel job with lake pipes and racing striips and decals? Maybe a tilt steering column with column power shifter hooked to 5 speed trans with quick change rear end?
Update the DICE shifter in picture is the swivel seat control.

I say go for it! But dont forget about adding those racecar harness seatbelts, sounds like your going to need them.

I still have an old WW2 P51 fighter four point harness that I used in the GOOD OLD DAYS to hold me in race cars. My problem will be how do I get myself down low enough to drive a rig like that without too much wind drag at 76?

Hot mama I had to take may shoes off to count the spaces on your post to figure out what you said! LOL
Sure is fun to see others that have a tilted view of the world- When I showed my son the cool scooter, I could see his mind starting to turn- Last night before he went to work, " Hey dad, if you did the cart in flat black, I bet I could get some pinstripping and some flames for it" Come to the dark side, Luke come to the dark side

I am so glad to see that others have that little voice in their head also LOL

Spots it is good to hear someone our age having fun instead of complaining, NEVER SLOW DOWN--NEVER GET OLD.
