Improving torque
First off, I want to say "thank you" to the people on this forum who answer questions so frequently. I've just purchased an 05 TXT with a lift kit and will be using the cart primarily for turkey hunting on rolling terrain with very steep hills. Thus, I probably am going to need more torque than my stock cart has to offer.
Here's my question... am I better off getting a different controller or should I go with a different motor. In answering, I'd appreciate those of you who know including the anticipated costs with the different options. Also, I would be very interested in knowing any other things that I can do to increase it. Thanks in advance for helping... and again I appreciate the forum. |

Re: Improving torque
I would upgrade the controller first. The stock motor is fairly strong and you can aways upgrade it later if you need more speed and torque. I would check with the sponsors for cost info, many of them sell after market controllers.

Re: Improving torque
first thing to do is replace all wires with at least 4ga or bigger. My personal 99 model has 0ga for wires. I have lift and 20 inch tires and pull diesels trucks with it no problems using stock components from 99 & 05 batteries
The controller is the hold back, it is only 300 amps. get a 500 and bigger wires and you should have all the torque you need. |

Is your 2005 a Series/Fleet or PDS system?
