I already had the Alltrax 48 Controller that was good for up to 48v, it was about $400 I think, bought it three years ago; the HD 48v solenoid was $80, and the batteries were $600. I am getting by with using a 24v charger on 3-8v batteries at a time for now, but after x-mas I will probably get a marine 48v on board charger, I think they are like $300-350 bucks.
All together from stock I guess it would be about with tax about $1500 including new charger. If you already need batteries I would drop the extra and do it. I wish I had known about the upgrade 4 yrs ago when I bought my last set of batteries. It has more range and more torque, very little if any bog even on hills; giving it less pedal when it bogs keep everything from heating up like it was. |
