Is my voltage converter going south?
Just curious,
I have a 25 amp 36volt to 12 volt converter that I got from one of the sponsors and when I accelerate AT ALL aggressively, the lights go out! Is this a common problem? It did it occasionally with the stock controller but since I put in the 400 amp Alltrax it has been quite a problem. Kinda need my lights when I am goosing it up a short, steep hill in the woods in the dark! If it is a problem that is common, I will figure something else out but, if it is unusual I will talk to the dealer. Thanks in advance! Cart is 2004 PDS Russ |

Re: Is my voltage converter going south?
Batts. are pretty good.
It was 18 degrees this morning but pack voltage was 37.7 Volts. I can run around on the road for about 6 miles and then take about a 5 mile ride through the woods, climb a 200 ft hill in the last 1/4 mile and then, it's time to charge. 50% discharged. )36.4 volt) I have a little Datel voltmeter mounted in the dash and if I tromp it it will drop down to 29 or 30 volts till it gets rolling a little then settle down to about 33-34 volts while cruising (3/4 to 7/8 throttle) What is typical voltage drop under severe acceleration? |

Re: Is my voltage converter going south?
Yeah, You're right!
I only work about a mile and a half from home and it is all on the same piece of property so rain or shine I ride my buggy! The Chevy is for town runs ONLY! I'm thinking about maybe some big ol capacitors between the batts. and the converter to get it through the periods of -30V (just a few seconds) Hmmm! Ever have one blink out under load before? |
