Cool Two 99 EZ Go Electrics

Hi Everyone, Glad to have found you.
We have two 99 Ez Go Work carts, and both have stopped working
while driving them. While deprecing the accelerators, they won't move, but make a whirring sound in the rear end. We had taken one of them to a repair shop, but they thought it was a solenoid. That was replaced,I don't know which one, but that didn't fix it. Any thoughts?

How can it be the brakes? The brakes work fine. The carts don't move forward nor backward.

Or am I just dense?

the rear axle is splined to the rear brake drum.. and that is were it is stripped out ...and your brake drum is what turns the rear tire..the axle is turning and your brake drum is not.. so no go for a ride intill that is fixed..

Listen to the whirring noise carefully and pin-point just exactly where it is coming from.(a helper might come in handy for this)
It will probably be one of the rear wheels.
The splines between the axle and the brake drum tend to strip.
Good Luck!
