Default 06 EZGO PDS Discharging really quick

I have a 06 EZGO PDS that was discharging the batteries really quick like only after 15 minutes of riding the cart.
Put a new set of batteries on cart and it is doing the same thing. I am not sure where to go now.
Any help in appreciated.....

Did you charge the new batteries before use? What is the pack voltage one hour after the charge cycle ends?

Yes the batteries were charged prior to use after install. I will have to test the 1 hr after charge voltage. I will get back with that result.
To add more info on this, it is a Lifted cart with 12" wheels and a speed chip. I have read some conflicting information, Some say it is Ok to run with stock controller and same say it is not. It is just used around home and camping.

It is okay on flat ground basically..... otherwise you run the risk that you will probably burn the controller up eventually ....

Scottyb
The 1 hr wait reading after full charge is 39.3 at the 36v poles and charging poles.
Each battery has 6.5 v reading.

First thing is remove the speed chip from the lifted vehicle! Is the reverse buzzer still hooked up? If not, them make sure it is operational so you can hear any fault codes that it is trying to "tell" you. Your controller may already be damaged and going into thermal overload...

I removed it this morning, once I started asking questions about it.
Yes the reverse buzzer is still hooked up, what does it do when fault codes are coming through???? Beep in forward????

Just drove the cart 2 miles the volatge dropped to 38.0 when I got back. The controller was not hot nor were the resistor under the controller. The Motor was cool, the onlt problem I had was several of the batery cables were extremely hot.
Am I correct to assume the cables are my problem????

replace your cables with 4ga. not just the battery cables, all of them.

if your cables are getting hot than that is more than likely your problem. Like mike said, your controller is goin into thermal overload protection and shutting down to keep from buring it up, but more than likely the damage has already been done. upgrade your cable and leave the speed chip out.

Excuse my ignorance on the whole speed chip thing. I have a 2002 PDS cart with a 5" lift and 22" tires and 4 gauge wiring that I have been running around with a speed chip installed, I have no issue with anything heating up with a 15 to 18 mile range at aprox. 22 mph. To the best of my knowledge all the speed chip does is take away some of the regenerative braking which allows the cart to go a few more mph. Why is this so detremental on a lifted cart? I plan on buying a Alltrax 400 amp controller when I can scrape up the money
