Default Battery Meter on '87 DS

From what I can tell I have the stock LED bar meter on my 87 DS, and I was wondering if anyone knows how accurate it is. Fully charged I've run the cart a good 5 or 6 miles one way on paved trails with lots of ups and downs and the meter only dropped one bar. On the way home I could definitely tell it was slightly weaker but the meter never got below 75%.

if you want real accuracy get yourself a digital meter and by the way scotty sells a great digital meter........................

That was my original complaint with the LED bar meter. Slowing with one bar and then below 50% with the next bar?
And the meter resets with each recharge, so if you have to pull the cart off the charger to use it, you get a low 100% mark.
I think the analogue meters give an easier indication myself... of course nothing beats the digital meters for real time data & accuracy.
