Problem removing steering wheel - '02 DS
So my challenges getting this lift kit install continue.
I need to rotate the steering wheel almost half a turn after completing the front end alignment - toe is correct but I really don't want to try and adjust using the steering arm ends if I don't need to (1/2 turn at the wheel is a bunch of threads on the arm, IMHO). I've removed the steering wheel nut, but the wheel won't budge. Put a little WD-40 on it but no luck, and I'm bending the wheel as much as I dare. Also tried tapping the steering shaft with a hammer, no luck. Is the wheel staked on or just really tight? Ideas welcome.... |

That did it - thanks again, Shadowman! Appreciate it. Took a good hard couple hits and off it came.
Guess these things aren't as dainty as I thought. |

I had one so siezed on the shaft I had to cut the plastic off all the way down to the metal "hub", and use a torch to heat and remove it, WOW, what a job that was.

WOW!!! I was struggling with mine for about 20 minutes and was wondering if I had to go buy an automotive steering wheel puller. Using Shadowman's technique it came off on the first whack with a rubber mallet! THANKS!!!
