Re: Have you tried a cheap Tach - Do They Work?
just one wire that you wrap around plug wire 4 times. I just used electrical tape to temp hold on for testing. Just that easy.

Re: Have you tried a cheap Tach - Do They Work?
FYI - I just installed this tach.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The cable was way too short. As a test, I spliced on a 25' 25awg (gauge) solid core 2-conductor wire (smoke alarm wire). I only needed 1 of the wires, so the other is there as a spare. Works like a champ. I ended up extending the stock wire by about 15 feet. This allows me to have a dash mounted tach on my stock Predator 420 in my '95 Ezgo. |

Re: Have you tried a cheap Tach - Do They Work?
These cheap tachs work great EXCEPT there is a fair amount of LAG. Still have one I installed on my G-14 in 2008. Good enough for a stocker. I still use it for the engine hours BUT not when to lift for red line. Also have one on my opie powered lawn tractor. P.S. You can still buy them like I did for less than $10 on E-Bay
