Default Ezgo workhorse Robyn 350 pre mcl

Hello to all, I am having an issue with my work horse. It has 93# compression. I put a new carb on it, but I can run it for 15 minutes and check the plugs. They are completely black and fouled. I have no idea what is causing this issue. The old carb did the same thing. Help

Hold the throttle wide open and check that compression again.

I just checked it at full throttle. Battery is a lil weak, but it gave me 69 to 70# on compression. Here is a pic of the plugs after 15 minutes of riding. These were brand new BPR5ES plugs.

Have you adjusted the valves ? Remove the valve cover and snap a picture so we can see the intake valves.
If they are set at .004 and you still have low compression then rebuild it or install a rebuilt motor in it.
I have three of these carts with pre mci engines. They all have 170 pounds of compression. I rebuilt two of them. The other one I bought that way.

These carts are known for the valves being out of spec. They are also known for wearing out lol. If you have nearly the same compression on both cylinders I'd suspect a decent condition engine for a rebuild. If you don't need a crank, you can buy a rebuild for $780 delivered from M&M.

Ok, I have rebuilt the motor. Compression looks good, and the plugs are nice and clean after driving the cart. Now the problem I have is, this is a workhorse with a lift and 22" tires on it. When I get it on a small incline, it just boogs and doesn't want to pull the hill at all. Clutches are working fine and it runs pretty good on flat ground. What happens to all torque and power to pull?

Is the fuel fresh? Clean air filter? Carb clean?

Also, check the governor setting. I have the same cart, it'll do 19mph flat ground and about 10 mph up the slight hill on my road, but it pulls it, just slow. If your cart doesn't stop but just slows down, it's probably ok. It also depends on the hill. If the hill is steep, it might slow down to 5 mph. Remember, this is a 1000 lb vehicle with 13 hp, not exactly a powerhouse.

New carb, New Air filter and just put 3 fresh gallons of fuel in it. It is an aftermarket carb. I'm in florida, and the slight incline is very minimal at best. If I turn around on the side of the road and go down it the very small ditch and stop. Well it will barely come out from a dead stop.

How exactly do you ck a governor. Also I have noticed before I rebuilt it, when it would run for 10 minutes and get hot, it really died out.
