Re: Newbie Restoring a G1
Taking a break for a while. Hunting season is here. Probably pick back up on the body in a few months.
Thanks for all the help so far! |

Re: Newbie Restoring a G1
So much for taking a break
Got the body close to where it needs to be. Had to repair the fiberglass in the corners. Been sanding and filling, sanding and filling.... I took the bench seat that was on it when I bought it and turned it around for the rear seat and added a couple fishing boat seats for the front. Got the main body primered. As of this pic the front cowl had fiberglass repairs curing. Ive been driving around the neighborhood like this. I can't believe how good the engine runs, considering how little work I had to do to it. Smokes very little and pulls hills like nothing. Only things I really have left to do is put a paint job on it (it's primer right now) and install the lift kit. |

Its happened to the best of us...Looks good tho! Can't wait to see it finished. Then you can take it hunting with you. Nice work Mike |

Re: Newbie Restoring a G1
No doubt, great job on that cart so far. It will be a nice ride for you....or me I almost had a G1 a couple years ago but the guy was just too high on it.

Re: Newbie Restoring a G1
I got all the bodywork done and it's being painted right now. Figured I'd go ahead and work on recovering the seats.

Re: Newbie Restoring a G1
I broke out my wifes sewing machine and made some covers. Turned out pretty good but I wish I would have made the pad thicker now.

Mike! I just read this whole thread! I'm glad my solenoid thread helped you out! I was baffled out of my skull along with Dave! Looks good! Nice job on the rear seat also! What did you use for the frame of the backseat?

Re: Newbie Restoring a G1
Once again, nice job! May want to redue that seat bottom foam....your kids will have sore bottoms after a short ride with that amount of padding
