I bought the Maxtools Powermax brand because the bore and stroke numbers equaled up to the 420cc advertised displacement. Some clones numbers don't add up. This was a suggestion from a go-carting forum I believe.

I bought my 13 hp clone from Harborfreighttools.com $299.00 at the time 2 weeks ago. Another $50 get you a 2 year full replacement warranty. No ? asked. You also can renew warranty as many times as you would like. These engines are made by Lifan These engines also have electric start

looking at the ebay site, it states that these engines DO NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY...

how would this be able to be overcome...I am assumi ng that you dont just make sure you have a fully charged battery before you crank it up?????

I'm starting to think that they just cut and paste the add from the pull start model. My 16 clone Powermax from Maxtool has a charging circuit with a diode to prevent energizing it backward. I guess a person would have to check to be sure but I'm betting all electric start models will have some sort of charging.

Question Re: Clone Engine

How about a muffler? Do they come with one or is it a DIY situation?

They come with a muffler and air filter setup. I ended up scrapping both to try to use my cart's stock parts. It hasn't worked as perfect as I'd like....but I hope it will here before too long. I'm trying to jet the carb for the difference in air flow.
