Thumbs down melex252

We have a old 252 golf cart. The only numbers on it is 252 and171942.Ran good one day and the next day it was losing power. Cut it off and won't start. Put new spark plug in it. It tries its best to crank bit it just don't fire. Any suggestions on what the problem is.
