Default 96 ezgo series

Have a 96 ezgo 36volt series. Replaced solenoid. Molex plug between sol. and controller replaced with 4 butt connectors. ITS "looks" good. Solenoid clicks, 4 green light flashes from alltrax controller when pedal is pushed. Cart doesn't move. Whats next. Thanx.

I posted a flow chart in the "PDS" thread, seems like we need to determine which drive system you have..... see your other thread.

since its a Series cart.....and the solenoid clicks when you push the gas.....the problem in in the HIGH CURRENT Circuit. (i.e. the big cables) even a loose or corroded cable won't pass the current needed to make the cart more.

Or the high current may not be getting through the F&R

I've got 37.84 volts pack. 36.4 on both sides, all four cables at the fnr. I've got 37.8 volts pos. side solenoid, and 36.4 on the other side without the solenoid being energized. 37.84 when energized. I've got 36.4 volts to all four studs at the motor without solenoid being energized. No change when energized. This does not sound right to me.

There is a "Pre-Charge" resistor across the larger terminal on the solenoid to keep the filter capacitors in the controller charged. The voltage you are measuring on the F.R and motor studs is pack voltage, less the voltage drop of that resistor with current flowing through it.

Take the resistor off while troubleshooting, if you want.

That doesn't sound right to me either, should be full pack voltage when solenoid is energized.

---------
Connect DVM between B- and M- terminals on controller.
You should measure full pack voltage when you push pedal just far enough for solenoid to click.

If you don't there is an open in the high current circuit someplace.

If you do, press pedal to floor and the voltage should decrease to zero.

IF not, check the throttle signal to controller. Pedal up should be 10V, pedal down should be 6V.

Voltage stayed @ 37.8 when pedal was pushed all the way. All trax flashed red 7 times, pause then 7 times. This is with pedal on the floor. Where should I start looking for "open" in high circuitry? Thanks Johnie

Sorry bout that. Got confused again. Voltage does not drop when peddle pushed so it is in throttle signal. Right? Where do I measure that 10 and 6 volts?
