Default What gauge wire to use when wiring a 48V to 12V reducer?

Just received my voltage reducer but there is no wiring harness. What gauge wire should I use when wiring a voltage reducer?

I would use 10ga on the 48v input side.

Hmm yeah, that sounds practical, just a little more security for the main wires

By the way, forgot to mention make sure you add an in line fuse to the input positive wire close to the reducer

Basically you want to match the size of the wore stubs coming out of the unit. So if the 48v side is 10g use 10g, if the 12v side is 12g use 12g. An inline fuse is provided.

your quite right, in line fuse is usually there already, I find that the reducers I use have 14ga wire in them, but then again I tend to only buy the same reducer...

10 gauge is a bit much. The 48 volt side, or line side , will be the lower current side of reducer. If the reducer is 10 amp output max, the 48 volt side will be less the 4 amps. Unless i am missing something, 10 is way to big.
