Yes. He said he had an MCOR on it, so that tells me that it's the new style throttle signal you'll need. As long as they're both series 48 volt cars everything will work fine.

2 ga wire is what I have, does this stud work for 2 ga ?

If it's 2 gauge welding cable and you're making your own, you shouldn't need a stud. I've always been able to get 2 gauge to fit through the hole in the OBC. Just takes a little WD-40
