Convert a 48v charger to 36v
Hello all, I was wondering if there was a way to convert a 48v charger to work on a 36v cart? Thanks for any response

Re: Convert a 48v charger to 36v
I asked because the most common 48v charger out there is the Club Car type which CAN NOT be used without the club car on board (on the cart) computer.
I don't know if it is possible to reduce the charger output, I would say no. |

Re: Convert a 48v charger to 36v
The charger is a Lester model number 17930. I was hoping maybe I could just change the regulator or something to make it a 36 volts.

Re: Convert a 48v charger to 36v
Faraday also calculated that the voltage induced into the secondary winding would have a magnitude that depends on the TURNS RATIO of the transformer. i.e. If the secondary winding has half the number of turns of the primary winding, then the secondary voltage will be half the voltage across the primary winding. Likewise, if the secondary winding has twice the number of turns of the primary winding, the secondary voltage will be double the primary voltage.

So the answer is (after a little research) no and definitely not this one. |

This is for a 1987 club car. Solenoid style and it has a dial on front of the charger that goes from 1-12 and off.
