Crash, the #5 wire goes from OLD pack positive to FNR.

You just run a cable from OLD battery #1 (+36v) positive post to batteries in series at bag-well area.

A new cable runs from the batteries in the bag-well area to the FNR where the +36v used to be.

It is still +36v at that connection.

It really does not matter where in the Series You add the new 2 x 6v batteries, just add them where it is more convenient and results in the shortest cables being used.

The only thing You need to make sure is that from whatever battery post it measures +36v from pack negative, You connect the wire that goes to the control box there so the solenoid activation is at +36v.

By moving 14 wire off the f/r switch to the #6 battery its 36 volts

The new batterys will be 7 and 8 #6 is 36 volts running the coils on solenoid numbrr 8 will run the fordward side of f/r switch the#3 battery will run the reverse as it was made

#8 is 48 volts #6 is 36 volts number 3 is 18

So, half throttle would no longer = half speed? Doesn't this make for head snapping starts off the line? Still trying to wrap my head around this set up.
