Re: No lights, or indicators
Sorry, I don't understand where I should be testing when you say 'pack positive' and 'pack negative', do you mean battery pack?
I have drawn a simple layout as I think the wiring appears in my head, it's probably miles out, but hey, I tried ha ha! If you could point out on it where I should be testing that would be great! |

Re: No lights, or indicators
We will go with your drawing, but for reference, the polarity on your battery symbols are backwards (the small bar represents negative and the long one positive).
"Pack Positive" refers to the positive post on battery #1. That is the only positive battery post not connected to any other battery. "Pack Negative" refers to the negative post on battery #6. That is the only negative battery post not connected to any other battery. The input for your converter should be connected to pack negative. If You measure the voltage from the pack positive battery post to the input of your converter, you should get 48v. if You measure the voltage from the battery post that represents that "+" sign on your drawing to pack negative, You should get 16v. if You measure the voltage from the battery post that represents that "+" sign on your drawing to the output of your voltage reducer, You should get 12v. |

Ah cool, I get ya. Definitely getting 48v from post to post. Not sure about the other two but will check...

Re: No lights, or indicators
What are the indicators that aren't working? Battery indicator ?
Takes 2 batts in series to get the 16 volts . Got any small wires connected at the battery posts? Guessing wiring close to this: |

Golferdave. A 16v to 8v reducer only has 2 connections on it. In reality it is just a high wattage resistor.

I just looked at one online. Way different than the solid state 48 to 12 reducer. Need to pull the pic & go eat some "Humble pie " http://www.jegs.com/InstallationInst...16-PWM1612.pdf |
