Where did you find the buffet of colors for your shrink tubing?

Right here my friend http://www.ebay.com/itm/350766877681...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT and it worked perfectly. The 5/8" shrunk down nice and tight. And the seller will combine shipping so I got 4' of each color, added to my cart, and requested a revised invoice and received it back that same day. It took 4 or 5 days to get to Florida. (Note- He was out of "Blue" when I ordered mine so I got 3/4" 3:1 and it sealed the deal (literally and figuratively!))

For an IQ cart (SEPEX) 4ga is plenty.

Without getting technical, it is a matter of efficiency.

The times a SEPEX motor needs high current, it does not need high voltage, so any inefficiency in the cable system will not reduce speed or torque, only a minuscule reduction in potential range.

If You need a lot of low speed high torque performance, the SEPEX motor is the wrong choice and You should have a SERIES motor.

If I was buying and to cover a any future expansion/upgrading, etc, I would get 2 awg. But if you have 4 awg and its free (and with what Sergio just said), then grab it up!

Here are some ends (Lugs) http://www.ebay.com/itm/25-4-Gauge-A...BY3Ke7&vxp=mtr and both Sergio and I posted places you can get heat-shrink.

Do you have a crimper to crimp them on or can you silver solder them?

I don't need alot of speed as the campground is 10MPH but does have some hill.
I was going to upgrade because I have free wire

And by the way, you never mentioned what kind you had, just said 4 gauge wire. It really needs to be high quality welding cable. Something stranded so it is flexible and you can work with it.

There are specs on what I have used on the sets we make down here in the greater greater metropolitan area.... (Note- Yours would be 4 awg which is fine)

APPLICATION: Welding/Battery Cable Applications
Construction Parameters:
Conductor #2 Bare Copper
Stranding 651 strands
Insulation Material EPDM
Separator/Wrap Tape Separator
Insulation Thickness 0.084'' Nom.
Insulated Conductor Diameter 0.480'' Nom.
Number of Conductors 1

Electrical Properties:
Temperature Rating -50OC to 105OC
Operating Voltage 600V Max
DC Resistance per Conductor @ 20OC 0.127 Ohms/1M'

Features:

Temperature Rating -50° C to 105° C
Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR)
Annealed stranded bare copper per ASTM B-172
Ozone, sun, weather, and chemical resistant

Applications:
May used in accordance with National Electric Code Article
630 Electric Welders.
Designed for use as welding leads from the secondary side of
the power source - typical of arc welders and welding
generators
Additional uses may include flexible lead cable; electrode
to welder unit, battery cables, and temporary and permanent
lead cables

I couldn't think of a better reason......

Just be sure it is a high quality cable or they may not last a long time.
