the manual suggest some WD40. Does wonders! I do it with my 6 months maintenance on my cart..

I use this on everything from charger plugs to padlocks. It leaves nothing but a light powder residue. It works great.

Dielectric grease is your friend. Squeeze some up in the terminal connections in the plug.
