Yes. If your batteries are older than his (generally weaker) or your voltage is less than his, you will have less. The best way to see is ALWAYS start out with a fully charged pack and then watch your volt meter (or hook a DVM up and lay it on your seat) and check it as you're riding along and see how bad it is on the incline.
