Yamaha Drive ran fine then dead next day
48 volt 4x 12v US Battery
Battery pack voltage is 44v, 3 batteries read 12v and 1 reads 8v. Positive and negative on controller reads 0v Positive and negative on solenoid read -44v Key is turned to on and in run mode, pressing accelerator and nothing happens. When in reverse buzzer is quiet. Fuse is good. Not sure what my next move should be? |

Re: Yamaha Drive ran fine then dead next day
Sounds like you should charge that single battery that's 8v and if it won't stay around 12 then it needs replaced. If you have access to an automotive battery tester or can take the battery to an auto parts store or garage, so much the better. I don't think the cart will work with that low of a voltage. Technically, a 12v battery is 12.6v when fully charged, and 12.0v when dead. 12.6x4=50.4v at 100% and 48v at 0%. You are at 44v.

Sounds like a bad battery! It should never be as low as 8V. I would replace it. You can try charging it with a car charger but it is probably toast.

Re: Yamaha Drive ran fine then dead next day
Also, look into replacing them all if one battery fixed the problem. Having them all matched for brand and capacity (old/new) is the secret to longevity. Also make sure any 12v accessories aren't connected to just one battery. That will kill it sooner than the others.
