G19 dead
Neighbor has a '99 G19 that is dead. Batteries are in good shape, 6.4 volts, cables in good shape. It has an Altrax controller with a Nivel sticker, 916 48300 YAM 0 - 1 K. I have not been able to get in position to read info on label/chart on driver side of controller. Will have to remove 2 center batteries.
With key on, in reverse, reverse buzzer sounds so am thinking micro-switch at foot pedal is sending signal, but there is no solenoid click. Upon pressing throttle pedal, green light flashes 5 times then goes steady green. From what I find that means Yamaha 0 - 1K and controller is ready to run. I have the G19 wiring diagram, but what I see there has been wiring modification at original controller plug in order to install Altrax controller. Where can I find a new wiring schematic for this controller? Any trouble shooting guides will be appreciated Ard |

Re: G19 dead
G19 should have a 0-5k throttle.

Re: G19 dead
Thanks, CGTECH for the reply;
That code information came from Colf Cart HOt Rod site, for a D&D Alltrax Motor Controller. AS stated this controller is an Altrax with a Nivel sticker, 916 48300 YAM 0 - 1 K. Perhaps their codes would be different. I guess I need to contact Nivel to see what informaton they can give me. I gather this cart has been re-manfactured somewhere in Florida. I'll see if I can get more information. |

Re: G19 dead
This cart is a mess. Definitely a 1999 G19e according to the label behind the seat.
BUT it has 6-6volt batteries and the Altrax SPM/Nivel 916 YAM 0-1K controller. Controller is getting initial signal from throttle as it is indicating ready to run. ??? Cart has been running this way for the owner for 3 years. He came back to FL a week ago and charged up the batteries and cart will not run. Still have not found wiring schematics for that controller. Will go over and check out relay and see if it is good and getting a current from the controller. Wires to relay/solenoid are both white and not R/W,R/B as on diagram. |

Re: G19 dead
Ok, the SPM controller will not work on a G19 motor, and bodies are changed pretty easily, so I'm betting you actually have a G16 wearing G19 clothing. Is your F&R a lever next to your right leg (G16), or a toggle switch on the dash (G19)?

Re: G19 dead
Or even a G14 with a G19 body. Without the serial number, it's just guessing.

Re: G19 dead
Thanks cgtech, you are right. Not a g19. Not deep enough into these things everyday to catch the difference. Maybe once a month!
F&R lever next to your right leg. So maybe at most a g16. I am assuming that explains the 0-1K throttle. I have wiring diagrams for g14 & g16 which look to be identical. Now to find help with that Altrax wiring. Meanwhile I'll check the solenoid, output from the throttle sensor and f/r switch. According to Yamaha identification helps page appearance and parts are pretty identical between g14 and g16. |
