Default MOT-D2 motor not sitting flush on G29

Anyone put the Admiral MOT-D2 high speed motor on their Yamaha Drive??

I for the life of me can’t get the motor to sit flush on the differential mount (see pics). I know something is wrong because I can take the old motor and slide it on and off like butter!!!

I have tried everything under the sun and it almost appears as if the inside ring of the motor housing is smaller than the outside ring on the differential mounting. It slides perfectly until the very end and just hits a brick wall. I can spin it in every direction but it never slides all the way on. Was told do not try and tighten until completly flush.

I would take the motor mount plate off the axle housing and put it on the motor. (Removed with 4 bolts). This will tell you if the interference is the motor housing, or motor coupler. I have heard of motor armatures being "knocked around" during shipping.

Thanks for the reply!

So undo the 4 bolts inside the housing? This won’t release all the fluid inside the differential will it? Lol just filled it...

Or is it the 4 bolts around the outside of the housing that make a square?

Nvm got it off... see pics. The diameter of the ring on the motor mount is too large to fit inside the casing of the new motor? Have you ever seen this before?!? I figure these are made with molds but could it have been a production issue??

Don't think it's a Yamaha production issue.

That's what I'm thinking but, the customer is requesting some assurance. Thanks for your input.
