R & T switch

i know this might sound like a really dumb question but what is the R & T switch used for? is the tow mode for towing something or is for when the cart is being towed?

It's for when the cart is being towed or pushed. It cuts off power to the computer (controller) because the motor has a speed sensor and the controller will try to slow down the cart using the motor as a generator to charge the batteries. This helps regulate speed down hills when you let off the gas. But if it happens while the cart is being towed, could overcharge the batteries, melt something, cause a fire, etc.

If you lean against the cart with the brake off and it shifts, you will hear the solenoid click on and maybe the whine if your hearing is sensitive enough.

Also turn the switch to tow when storing the cart. Removes the battery drain.
