13 mph stock, need 25+
I have what I believe is a 2010. I can’t find my serial #. There’s a JW2 on the warning sticker on the dash. I thought it was a 2012 on my paperwork when I bought from Ss Carts but I could be mistaken. My town now allows us to drive these around, but 13mph is a nuisance. I want to weigh my options before just buying a new cart altogether.
-48v -Hitachi motor -215/40-12 tires I need minimum of 25 mph. I’m not really concerned about cost but if it gets wild expensive I’ll just buy something else that is faster. I kinda like the electric. If I do decide to toss this cart, is there anything that will go 35mph and still drive reasonable at slower speeds? Our town ordinance allows 35mph. Thanks in advance |

Re: 13 mph stock, need 25+
I suppose you could do high speed gears (8:1) to get you around 25, but that's gonna kill the motor or controller. To do what you want, and have a reliable machine, you need a motor & controller, plus upgrade cables & solenoid.
Also, if your batteries aren't very good, the best way to reveal that is by installing a hotrod motor & controller. I have seen upgrades do very little gains due to used-up batteries that couldn't hang. |

Putting an Alltrax XCT controller in that thing will significantly boost the speed as well. I’ve seen 22MPH with the stock motor- but like cgtech said they aren’t the heaviest duty motors and you might have issues with it in the future.
The dealer programmed “PTV code” will get you to 19.5 MPH or something like that. Probably not worth it though. |

Get the riot kit from Plowman's carts. Running 23" tires, the riot kit will get you 30+. I can get 32 with 2 passengers, 28 w/4 passengers. Awesome acceleration, incredible support from Don himself, and costing around $1500, it's awesome. Motor, controller, wires, solenoid, etc.
