Correct, all i need to do is bypass the OBC once, and attempt to charge the cart. If the cart charges after the bypass, then I can say with 99% certainty that the OBC is bad correct?

I would ratehr pay 200 for a new OBC than 350 for Summit charger.

But you need to know, that extra $150 you will receive back in longivity and quality in regards to the Sunnit II over an OBC. And I was a BIG proponent of OBC's and have used them for YEAR's, but they were high tech when introduced in '95 by Lester on CC Powerdrives, but in 2014, they were discontinued for the more efficient - HF charger called ERIC. In 2020, there is no comparison between an OBC and a Summit II, as that is like comparing a 56k Modem to a DSL or Cable Modems...

And with an OBC, you will still have to upkeep the Powerdrive Charger. With a Summit, it is all inclusive as one part.

I understand and I’m with you. I just need to get this ‘97 cart fully functioning, it’s for one of my buddy’s who will probably only use the cart minimally.

The bypass kit is like 75 too. So it’s a bit more that just 150

My OBC has a gremlin and confirmed by TahoeDawg. My OBC controls my Power Drive charger fine for a typical charge after cart use and turns the charger off automatically at full charge but then the gremlin activates the charger 36 - 48 hours after the normal charge for some unknown reason. I'm by-passing the OBC and going with a Summit II. My PD charger will be sold.

But, you do not need a bypass kit per post #1 of this thread.

Well you don't need the bypass kit. - 75 dollars. And you forgot about when you sell your old charger for 200 dollars, then it's 275 dollars cheaper. I would get the new charger and forget the OBC

That kit is for someone that does not know how to manually do it the way we explain.
