Default 2003 Electric Club Car Ds Brake Hub Removal

Hope someone can help, I am trying to remove the rear brake drum/hub so I can replace the pads. The hub is loose, but I cannot get it off. I did see an older post about the same issue and someone responded with a link to the service manual that solved the guys problem. But the link comes up invalid now.

Feeling like it is something very simple to remove the drum/hub, would appreciate any help you can give.

The brake shoes have worn deeply into the drums. Try first to use a large hammer banging one side of the drum and pulling out on the opposite side with your fingers. Switch off sides left and right up and down every hit or few hits. Your trying to get the lip of the drum over the brake shoes. If this does not work the last resort is to hit the edge of the drum with a sledge hammer hard to bust the drum into pieces.

If you have new retaining pins just shear off the old ones so it allows the brake shoes to pivot out of the way. The picture below is from the Precedent but it should be similar on your DS:

Do as Sergio said. It's rare to have to resort to cutting a brake drum off. The current price for that hub is about $50.00.
Here is a link that should be helpful to you:

Good luck.

Have you disconnected the cable from the lever at the backing plate? Sometimes that last little bit of travel will allow the shoes to back off enough.
