Still looking. Also, a transaxle that has the 8:1 gears already installed would be a solution I'd be interested in. |

He simply said that he has never dealt in transaxles and referred me to a place in Georgia that sells used parts. Dead end again... :-( |

Re: Rebuilt CC DS Electric Transaxles w/ higher Gears
So here is another thought since I seem to be going nowhere on the 2-speed or remanufactured front:
Any of you guys ever rebuild a rear end? I can get a used Kawi or Graziano and buy the oil seals and the 8:1 gears and give it a try. how involved is changing the gears out if you have tried that? |

Okay, PingEye3 was sending you to him because he can order the factory differential with the 10:1 gears installed. So it is Plug n Play.

Oh...sorry - I didn't understand that part. So help me learn a little here about this... I thought the factory axle came with a 12:1 (11.7:1 actually). So you are saying that he can get a new axle from the factory that is 10:1? That clears a lot of things up for me if that is true. I'm trying to get something taller than the stock ratio (12:1). When I asked David about something geared taller, he didn't mention a new 10:1. |
