Default Precedent seems to be in slow mode

So, I have had chronic problems with my 2007 Precedent having accelerator problems: not always responding to the accelerator, hesitating when going up hills, getting stuck in slow mode, regen braking not working.

I recently upgraded my pedal group and switched to an MCOR4. It has helped with the accelerator issues. But it still seems to stay in slow mode, and the regen breaking is still not kicking in on downhills.

What's the next likely cause, speed sensor? solenoid?

I replaced the speed sensor a few years ago, could it have gone bad already?

I can always hear a click when I push the accelerator, though I often don't hear one when I take my foot off of it.

Thanks for any ideas.

Default Re: Precedent seems to be in slow mode

I had the same issue with my 2007 Club Car, 48V. I replaced the MCOR with the same one but just new, eliminated the hesitation feeling when going on a mostly level street. When I tried to go up the hill, the cart would just hesitate and not go very well. I checked the batteries and they were all charged up to 12.6 volts but the cart was still slow. One of the batteries was weaker, so I replaced the weak one with a matching new Trojan 1275 battery. The cart ran better but still slow with the stock motor and setup. I learned that sometimes the voltage can be "full" but the battery amperage can be limited due to the batteries getting old and worn out. After inspection of the batteries, I noticed the sidewalls were bulging out/warped. This a sign of bad batteries. I eventually replaced them and now the cart works right. The old batteries were taken care of but just reached their "expiration day" I guess.
