Default 2014 RXV has stiff steering

Personally, I don't have any issue with it but it is definitely much stiffer to steer than my old 2003 TXT.

However, my 93 yo mom has a bit of difficulty steering it around the yard.

Is this normal for an RXV and if not, any advise to what to check?

I guess it could be steering column, steering box, king pings, tie rods ends, etc but I'm hoping there is something that is "usually" the culprit that I can check first before disassembly.

first thing to do is jack it up and check it out..... Are there grease fittings?
Last time it was greased? Gotta do some basic legwork first.

Thanks for the response but I should have mentioned that I found no grease zerks on the spindles, ball joints, gear box or steering shaft before I posted. Seems to be a "no maintenance" front end which seems odd to me.

Tire pressure is also at 30lbs which is higher than I normally run them just to check if tire pressure affected the stiffness but didn't help.

If you can't see anything obvious, I would disconnect the tierods from the spindles and determine if one or both spindles are dragging.
If not then rotate the steering wheel looking for drag in the column or rack.
If every thing is loose it is probably the characteristics of the cart?

You could at this time remove the spindles, drill the center and add grease fittings.
Also, pull the accordion boots back on the rack and smear grease all over the rack. might help?
