Ezgo Pds all forward no reverse

Have an 05 Pds that I bought with no batteries. Put batteries in and it ran in forward but no reverse. Traded out a known working f/r switch and have the same. Put old one back on and now won’t go forward with switch forward but will intermittently run forward when switch is on reverse. When it runs, it’s slower than it should be. Controller?

The F/R switch is supposed to place battery pack voltage on either J1 Pin-3 (F) or J1 Pin-2 (R). Technically, the controller defaults to Forward and Pin-3 tells it to "Run". The voltage on Pin-2 is forwarded to Pin-2 via a diode inside the controller, so when battery pack voltage is on Pin-2, the controller is being told to 1. send the field amps through the field windings in the opposite direction, 2. reduce the throttle signal to 1/2 and 3. sound the beeper.

If the F/R switch is sending pack voltage on the correct pins and the controller is not doing what it is being told to do, then the controller is bad.

If so, replace it with an Alltrax XCT48400-PDS (or larger) along with a compatible solenoid.
