Default 2005 EZGO 2+2 36V 18+mph

Hello,
I recently picked up a 2005 2+2 Shuttle. It is 36v with new 6V batteries. I looked it over and everything looks stock, but this cart MOVES. It has stock 18" low profile wheels, but it goes 18+ mph.

I don't think that's a stock speed? What could they have done to make it go 18mph with a stock motor? are 36v carts capable of those speeds?
Thanks

My first guess would be a Freedom plug.

Also, Is there anything different about the 2+2 vs a standard txt? It has a nice large back seat, but that's about all I notice that's different

I have a 2000 version of the 2+2. In this case a "series" version but in 2005 the chances are much higher that it would be a "sepex" aka PDS version.
My cart would do 17mph as opposed to the golf model that would only do 12-14mph. The reason is because the factory put a different motor and controller in it. While the standard cart had a 1.49KW motor and a 250-275 amp controller the 2+2s had a 1.87KW motor and a 400amp controller.
In the sepex versions the carts usually had the standard fleet motor and controller but had the freedom plug (jumper) in the controller allowing up to 20mph which the golf models would do but the 2+2s were a little slower because of the additional weight of the rear seat and long canopy etc.
The differences in mine over the standard fleet cart were: besides the mentioned motor/controller, a higher rated solenoid, long canopy, windshield, factory lights with brake lights, heavy duty rear springs and an enclosed bag well. The rear seat flips over backwards to reveal the bagwell in case you hadn't noticed. We use it as a trunk.
